THE VILLAGES, Fla. - Eric R. Dowell, 74, formerly of Warren, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 29, 1938, in Warren, the son of Fredrick and Amanda Blakley Dowell.

Eric was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.

He was retired from General Motors and was a member of King Solomon's Lodge in Warren.

Survivors include two sons, Elliott Dowell of California and Fitzgerald Dowell of Youngstown; two daughters, Venetia Stanko of North Carolina and Erika Dowell of North Royalton; three brothers, Ralph Dowell of Florida, Kevin Dowell of New York and Michael Dowell of California; a sister, Doris Holmes of Warren; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where calling hours will be one hour prior to the funeral, with a 10:30 a.m. Masonic service.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
