BURKHART, Marilyn Elizabeth, 72, of Barnesville, Ohio, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family Wednesday, October 31, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Marilyn was born January 16, 1935, in Louisville, Ky., a daughter of the late J. Edward Moberly and Angela Rapp Moberly.
Mrs. Burkhart was married to Edwin (Gene) Burkhart for 51 years, lovingly raising 12 children.
Together they owned and operated Burkhart Nursery and Floral in Barnesville for over 25 years, later Mrs. Burkhart worked with Riesbecks corporate office staff; and was a member of Assumption Church of Barnesville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen; and an infant sister, Angela.
Mrs. Burkhart will be sadly missed by her husband Gene; children, Mark (Jane) Glauser of Wheeling, W.Va., Vince of Cupertino, Calif., Greg (Kathy), Mike (Lori), and Eric (Tammy), all of Barnesville, Angela (Tom) Seigwald of Louisville, Karl of Palmdale, Calif., Theresa (Tom Royston) of Chicago, Ill., Sharon (Tim) Shriver of Cary, N.C., Veronica of Oak Park, Ill., and David of Columbus, Ohio; 16 grand- children; two great-grandchildren; and six brothers, Bill (Vi) Moberly of Sedona, Ariz., Eddie Moberly of Apalachicola, Fla., Mike (Betty) Moberly of Prospect, Ky., Burch (O'Neal) Moberly of Mt. Washington, Ky., David Moberly of Louisville, Richard (Paula) Moberly of DePauw, Ky.
Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 702 East Main St., Barnesville, OH.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m., at Assumption Church Barnesville, OH, with Monsignor Mark Froehlich as celebrant.
Burial in Assumption Cemetery, Barnesville, OH.
