Maynard E. Coller, 84, of Bloomington, died Thursday (Nov 4) at his residence.
Born Jan. 23, 1915, in Bowling Green, Ohio, he was the son of Arthur and Olive (Van Buskirk) Coller.
He was a chemist in the geology department at Indiana University where he was a past president of the IU Staff Council, helped establish scholarships for children of faculty and staff, and was one of the founders of IU Credit Union. He was also a former Monroe County councilman.
He was a member of Tau Beta Pi Chemical Engineering Honor Society and First Presbyterian Church.
A graduate of Bowling Green State University, he earned a master's degree from Ohio State University.
Survivors include his wife, Winifred (Wolfe) Coller; two sons, Donald M. Coller of Bloomington and David A. Coller of Norman; one daughter, Maryann Olsen of Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Bangert officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
