Roy "Ray" Kernaghan, 92, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away June 28, 2012. Ray was born February 18, 1920 in Tuttle, Oklahoma to Jess and Effie Kernaghan. Ray enlisted in the U.S. Navy after Pearl Harbor and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer, putting radio electronics skills he learned as a boy to use in the war effort including classified technology. After the war he worked at KTOK radio where he organized that stations' first employee's union. He later joined KWTV where he helped put the TV station on the air for the first time. He concluded his working career as a long time employee of the FAA. Ray was a faithful member of Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City for over 43 years.

Ray was preceded in death by:
• His wife of 48 years, Alma Rogers Kernaghan;
• And five brothers and sisters. He is survived by:
• His son Kerry Kernaghan of Oklahoma City;
• Daughter Glinda Dobson and husband Bill of Tulsa;
• Sister-in-law Nean Weatherford and husband Dewey of Oklahoma City;
• Sister-in-law Virginia Kernaghan of Alvin, Texas;
• As well as many nieces and nephews.
