According to his burial card he was a resident of the Clearview Home in Omaha, Nebr., died May 15, 1942, age 73 years, and was buried in charity grave on May 18 following funeral services at St. Bernard's Catholic Church.

Mr. Abts also has a marker with his wife's in St. Francis Cemetery, David City, Nebr. See memorial # 123062908.
