Born in New York, son of Richard Haigh and Lucy Allyn Haigh. He grew up in Dearborn and was educated in Dearborn Township and Detroit schools before graduating from Michigan Agricultural Collage (Michigan State University) and the University of Michigan. He practiced law untill he married Jan. 16, 1895 to Caroline S. Comstock, daughter of Andrew W. Comstock and Lillian Little. He then attended to the Comstock fortune. In the late 1890s and early 1900s he became involved in mass transportation. In his later years he was called upon to speak on the city of Dearborn history for groups and schools. First chairman for the Dearborn Historical Commission. Founder of Northview cemetery. Henry A. Haigh elementary school on Silvery Lane north of Cherry Hill was named in his honor.
