Bruce Lawrence Nelson, age 76, of Jackson, GA died early Thursday morning, May 31, 2012 at Spalding Regional Medical Center in Griffin, GA. He was born at Curles Neck Farm in Henrico County, VA on January 22, 1936. Bruce was the son of the late Samuel Lawrence Nelson and Bessie Brown Rodgers Nelson.
After serving several years in the Marines, Bruce began his career at Southern States Feed and Seed in Providence Forge, VA. Bruce eventually moved south for a position with Fabral Corporation where he worked as the plant manager and in sales for twenty six years before retiring in 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Kimbell Nelson of Jackson, GA, daughter, Christine and Peter Doyle, Los Altos, CA, step daughter, Robin Taylor, Jackson, GA, grandchildren Emma Doyle and Piper Doyle; brother, Samuel and Pat Nelson, Powhatan, VA, sisters, Jean Nelson Duell, Richmond, VA, Cathy and Mike Walker, Bumpass, VA and several nieces and nephews.
