Mrs. Sarah V. Buck Dead.

Mrs. Sarah V. Buck, 328 South Market, died this morning at 3:30 o'clock in St. Mary's hospital, after a 3-weeks' sickness. She had been in failing health for several years.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Roberts-Blue funeral chapel. Rev. Muriel Inlow, pastor of the United Presbyterian church will conduct the services. Interment will be in Maplewood cemetery.

Mrs. Buck was born in Lancaster, Pa., and her maiden names was Sarah V. Whiteside. She was married to Charles N. Buck at Latrobe, Pa., in the early eighties. They came immediately to Lyon county and located on a farm in the Chicago Mound neighborhood. Later, they bought a farm near Madison, where they lived until they moved to Emporia in the fall of 1928. Of the two children born to Mr. and Mrs. Buck, a son, William, was killed by lightening in 1910. The daughter, Mrs. Tom Bennett, lives at 639 Chestnut.

Mrs. Buck was a life-long member of the United Presbyterian church and on coming to Kansas she transferred her membership to the church in Emporia. She was the oldest person in this congregation.

Mrs. Buck is survived by Mr. Buck, her daughter, a brother T.B. Whiteside, Pasadena, Calif.; two cousins, Judge Easton Hutchison, Topeka, and Dr. R.T. Campbell, former president of Sterling college, Sterling, Kan.
