Kathi Bauler, 62 years old, of Remsen, IA, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars, IA.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, with Rev. Roger Linnan officiating and Deacon Rick Roder assisting. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2012. There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., both at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Kathi was born Nov. 18, 1949, at Sheldon, IA, the daughter of Eugene and Colleen (Daniels) Harte. As a young child she moved with her family to Remsen and attended St. Mary's Catholic School, graduating in 1968. Over the years she held several jobs, including banking and insurance, and her last job was at Staples in Marcus and Orange City, where she worked for many years.
Kathi enjoyed her grandchildren, dogs, reading, crossword puzzles, golf, gardening, and her beloved "Huskers."
Survivors include her son, Kevin (Amber) Gengler of Remsen; her daughter, Erin (John) Blankenship of Hawarden, IA; five grandchildren, Kierra and Amaya Gengler, and Jaylen, Kezden, and Shayden Blankenship; one brother, Buck (Joan) Harte of Brandon, SD; one sister, Mary "Bee" (Scott) Carey of Loveland, CO; one sister-in-law, Debbie Harte of Redstone, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her parents; two brothers, Michael and Leon Harte, and several aunts and uncles.
Casket bearers will be Jaylen and Kezden Blankenship, Mollie, Carrie and Michael W. Harte, and Tom Dion.
