John D. Shadowens, 71, Carrier Mills, formerly of Stonefort, died 1:22 p.m. Feb. 8, 2002 at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
He was born June 24, 1930 in Saline County, son of the late Thomas and Minnie (Murrow) Shadowens.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002 at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Jeff Owens will officiate. Burial is in Garris-Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002 until time of service at the funeral home.
He is survived by two sisters, Ruby Rice and Lucille Reynolds, both of Carrier Mills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin brother, Jim Shadowens, three brothers, Hobart, Thomas and Gilbert Shadowens; four sisters, Anna Mae Shadowens, Opal Shadowens, Hazel Black and Mary Evans.
