She was born November 10, 1925 in Taylor, Utah to Harold H. and Grace Lombard Hammer.
Virgina married Donald Jay Messick in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death March 21, 1995.
She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served faithfully in various callings.
Virginia was a member of the Professional Woman's Association, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and enjoyed her activities at the Roy Senior Center.
She was talented in gardening and crafts.
Virginia is survived by four children, Brent (Susan) Messick, Hooper; Carol (Doug) Drake, Island Park, ID; Lorraine Woolsey, West Point; Donna (Ben) King, Fernley, NV; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson, Kevin Woolsey.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Emeritus Estates and CNS Hospice for all the loving care our mother received.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 3rd at 11 a.m. at the Roy City Cemetery, 2300 West 5200 South.
The family will meet with friends prior to the service from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
