Born to parents John McHenry and Susannah McNeal he married Mary Reed and had 12 children: Absalom and Mary, John, James,Keturah, Edward, John, Susannah, Sarah, Elizabeth, Thomas, and Moses. Thomas had a twin brother named John. They settled at Rohrsburg about 1789. they were both Revolutionary soldiers having enlisted at age 17. They were said to have been as alike as two peas. They were greatly devoted to each other and lived together for a long time. Thomas, his wife and several descendants are buried here.
