OAK RIDGE, La. – Funeral services were held Wednesday in Oak Ridge Methodist Church for Joe Sidney Carter Sr., 70, who died at his home in Oak Ridge Tuesday. He was the uncle of Otto H. Pittman of Alexandria.
He was a prominent farmer, cattleman, and businessman. He served as a member of the Morehouse Parish School Board and a director of the Oak Ridge bank.
Survivors include his wife, a son and a daughter and four grandchildren.
