Elizabeth (Betty Ruth) Chase of Casselberry, Fla., died Friday.

Dec. 3, 1919, she was born to Richard J. and Olive Stephenson. She attended school in Superior and graduated with the class of 1937. After attending college of St. Theresa in Winona, Minn., she graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1941. She taught school in Lawrence and Broken Bow. In 1945, she moved to Mitchell, S.D., and taught school.

In 1946, she married Erwin J. Asmussen and continued to teach. Later she went into the insurance and real estate with her husband in the Asmussen Real Estate Agency.

March 20, 1985, she married Arthur B. Chase and moved to Casselberry, Fla.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Chase; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Weisser (Virginia L.), Rockford, Ill.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Keith Schuster (Linda) of Beatrice, Mrs. Joel Gatewood (Marcia) of Bunke, Va., and Mrs. Wayne Dinkins (Carole) of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Helen Marie Della Pietra of Middlebury, Conn.; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin, one son, one daughter and her parents.

She was a member of St. Augustine Church, Casselberry, Fla., Deer Run Country Club, the American Legion Auxiliary of Mitchell, S.D., and Catholic Daughters of America.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Mitchell, S.D.
