Las Cruces - A family graveside gathering and burial will be held on May 20, 2022 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Las Cruces NM for William James Foster, where he will be laid to rest beside the love of his life, Florence. William, 85, died April 29, 2022 in Las Cruces. He is finally at peace, after 20 years, 9 months and 19 days of missing Florence. They are now reunited in heaven.
William was born on January 21, 1937 in Carlsbad NM to Karl and Modean Foster. He lived in Artesia, NM where he married Florence Elizabeth Worley on April 19, 1956.
He worked for Brown Pipe & Supply in Artesia where he began as a truck driver, working his way up to manager. In 1985, he started his own manufacturer's rep agency for the plumbing wholesale industry in New Mexico. Florence joined the business as the bookkeeper and inside sales, and as the business grew, they moved to Las Cruces NM in order to keep the business prospering.
He was a volunteer fireman in Artesia for many years. He loved cars, woodworking and his family. Anything he did, he did with perfection.
He is survived by daughter Elissa Ruddick and her husband Allen of Las Cruces NM, son Karl Foster and his wife Jane of Northlake TX, grandson Randy Ruddick and his wife Melissa of Lacombe LA, granddaughter Jamie Ruddick and her husband Jose Gonzalez of Albuquerque NM, grandson Mason Foster and his wife Pika of Highland Village TX, granddaughter Mollie Foster and her fiancé Micah Pfeiffer of Spanish Fork UT, grandson Karson Foster and his wife Jordan of San Antonio TX, great granddaughter Hailey Crausby and her fiancé Austin Diodene of Lacombe LA, great grandsons Drew and Luke Ruddick of Lacombe LA, sister Mary Lou Stevenson of Artesia NM, sister Karla Semler of Cheyenne WY, and by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Karl and Modean, wife Florence, parent in laws Mervon and Roma Worley, brother in laws Robert Stevenson, Michael Semler, Frutos Cota and by his baby sister Kathryn Cota.
