Gladys E. Stephenson, 82, of Kenoza Lake, NY, a homemaker and lifetime resident, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Roscoe Community Nursing Home, Roscoe, NY.
The daughter of Jacob and Christina Heibt(Heib) Wilfert, she was born May 13, 1930 in Jeffersonville, NY. She was married to the late Harry H."Scratch" Stephenson (Jan 30,1924-Dec 4,1989)
Gladys was a member of Kenoza Lake United Methodist Church and the Bethel Lites Ladies Group.
Survivors include her children: Marion Lair and her husband, Jerry of Roscoe, NY, Paul Stephenson and his wife, Ann C. of Liberty, NY, and Harry Keith Stephenson of New York City, NY; four grandchildren: Stacey Ballbirer of Maryland, Joseph Brewer of Liberty, NY, Elizabeth Stephenson of Liberty, NY and Michael Stephenson of Chesapeake, VA; four great grandchildren: Kristyn Brewer, Joseph Brewer, Jr., Kaelyn Ballbirer and Ryan Ballbirer. She was predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Brown and by two brothers, Ed Wilfert and Sidney Wilfert.
Friends may call Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, NY from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will be Friday, June 29, 2012 at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Collins officiating. Burial will be in Kenoza Lake Cemetery, Kenoza Lake, NY.
