LOCKPORT, April 25.--Ill since January 15, when he was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage, Donald L. Oliver, 54, of 21 Bewley parkway, deputy county jury commissioner and former Seventh ward supervisor, died at 6:15 o'clock this morning at the Veterans' hospital at Batavia, N. Y. He was taken there a month ago. Born in Lockport, February 19, 1891, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Oliver, he was educated in the Lockport public schools and the former Bettinger Business institute. A Republican in politics, he served as clerk to Senator William Bewley at Albany, N. Y., when the latter was a member of the assembly. For 15 years Mr. Oliver was employed in the city engineer's office under Engineers Julius F. Freshee, Ralph B. Smith and others. Elected supervisor in 1929, Mr. Oliver served four consecutive two-year terms and was elected for a fifth. He resigned in 1938 to accept the appointment as deputy jury commissioner. During the first World War he served as a staff sergeant at Camp Devins, Mass. He was a past commander of B. Leo Dolan Post No. 410, American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Agnes N. Callahan Oliver; his stepmother, Mrs. [Blene] M. Oliver; two sons, First Lieutenant Thomas D. Oliver, of Chanute Field, Illinois, and Private First Class Frederick E. Oliver, in the Philippines; a daughter, Anne E. Oliver, at home, and one step-brother, Weldon R. Oliver, vice principal of North Junior high school at Niagara Falls. The funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Donald L. Oliver died Wednesday, April 25, 1945 at the Veterans Administration Facility, Batavia. He is survived by his wife Agnes (nee Callahan), 2 sons 1st Lieut. Thomas D. Oliver, Chanute Field, Ill. and Pfc. Frederick E. Oliver, U. S. Army, 1 daughter Anne E. Oliver, his mother Mrs. Blene Oliver, Lockport, and 1 brother Weldon R. Oliver, Niagara Falls. Funeral Saturday morning at 8:30 from the family home, 21 Bewley Parkway and 9:00 at St. Johns Church. Interment will be at Cold Springs Cemetery. Friends are invited.
