To the pleasant wallkill vale, where the church of pure goodwill, uttered peace and rings it still, came with comrades true this gael, led by light that did not fail, and with swift inherent skill, swept from their loved hearth and sill, red men lurking on their trail.
Also a tribute to his sons and descendants who served their country in war. Erected by descendants of his son, James: E Everett Buchanan, Elmira, NY; Gordon Buchanan, Chicago, Ill; Chauncey K Buchanan, Tarrytown NY. Members Buchanan Society instituted in Scotland 1725 and by a descendant of his son, Robert.
