She was born Dec. 6, 1913, in Brandenburg, Ky., the daughter of R.P. and Elizabeth Adams. She married William L. Carsell on Nov. 11, 1936, in Shelbyville. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1997. Surviving are her sons, Charles of Shelbyville; Ron of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Diann Miller of Mission, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter. She was a member of Shelby Christian Church.
