Mrs. Ida Gloria Reeves Broadway, affectionately known to family and friends as "GLO", 66, of 3607 Appomattox Drive, answered the Lord's call and took her wings into eternal rest on Monday morning, June 25, 2012.

"GLO" was born December 2, 1945 in Winston-Salem, NC to Annie E. Penn and James Reeves. She was a graduate of Atkins High School class of 1964 and LaMae Beauty College. She received her Early Childhood Accreditation from Forsyth Technical Community College. In addition to practicing Cosmetology she provided early education to numerous children at Northwest Child Development and North Carolina Baptist Medical Center Childcare.

"GLO" was a lifelong member of Saint James AME Church where she served faithfully on the Stewardess Board, Missionary Society, Vacation Bible School, and other committees until her health declined. Preceding her in death were her father, James Reeves; her beloved brother, James "Shed" Reeves; stepfather, William Penn; sister-in-law, Alice Tarrant; and brothers-in-law, James Bradley and Billy Miller.

"GLO's" love will forever be with her devoted husband of 45 years, James R. Broadway; her "little girl", April M. Broadway (Arthur Jackson); son, Spunky Broadway; her mother, Annie E. Penn; five sisters, Constance R. Bradley, Carolyn R. Miller, Elaine Bevels, Sheron Ann McCloud, and Shelia R. Jackson; one brother, Lester Davis; God-daughters, Rita Brown, Jenee H. Orr (Aarron), and Regina Ford Hall (DeWayne); grandchildren, Empress Withers and Sydney Howard; God-grandchildren, Ebone' Brown, Gion Brown, Imani Brown, and Samantha Macon; uncle, Melville "LANDER" Mauney (Charmin); in-laws, Mildred Reeves, June Ragins, Ramona Wheeler, Sadie B. Williams, Jones Broadway, Jr., Helen Broadway, and Memoree Broadway; devoted nieces who provided loving care, Tangela Howard (Shedrick), Latricia Moore, Jamaro Jackson, Andrea Vanoy, and Antoinette Britton; special nephew, Maurice Profitt; numerous nieces and nephews; devoted lifelong friends, Priscilla Jackson Wiggins (Robert) and Juanita Withers; loving neighbor and friend, Rita Harris and Family; a very special person which words can't describe whom she loved dearly that assisted her from the beginning of her illness until the present, Aynn Daniels; the family and staff of Russell Funeral Service; FRIENDS Social Club; and a host of extended family and friends.

A celebration of "GLO's" life will be held at 1p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Saint James A.M.E. Church, 1501 N. Patterson Ave. W-S, NC 27105 with Reverend Dr. Shirley W. Hines presiding and Reverend Dr. Mary F. Peterson eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1p.m. on Saturday at the Church.
