After retiring, he worked at Edgars Exxon for 10 years and also mowed the lawn for 32 people a week for many years. His hobbies included collecting hats and looking after his dog Frisky.

A celebration of Paul's life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009, in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Kestner, Rev. Herb Cook and Rev. Dewight Stafford officiating.
