Lois Lambeth Clinard, 95, of Piedmont Crossing, and formerly of 700 Mendenhall St., passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Thomasville Medical Center with her two children by her side. She was born in Richmond County on December 3, 1916, the only daughter of the late John Henry and Bonnie Greene Lambeth. On December 5, 1941, she married Charles Webb Clinard, who preceded her in death on November 24, 1996. She graduated from Thomasville High School, Class of 1936, and continued to be instrumental with her biennial class reunions. Lois retired after many years of service from Belk Stores in Thomasville and High Point in Ladies Ready-to-Wear and as a Bridal Consultant. She joined the Thomasville Woman's Club in 1952 and held several different positions in the Club including a Trustee. She was also a member of the Home Life Department serving as Secretary/Treasurer for several years. Lois was a member of the Spinster's Bridge Club for over 50 years. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church and the Mary Abbott Sunday School Class, where she remained active as long as her health permitted. She loved life and enjoyed being a member of all of these organizations. She also enjoyed decorating and working in her flowers; Lois and Webb were happiest when entertaining family and friends in their home. Lois is survived by her daughter, Gayle Clinard Wheeler of Kernersville; son, Charles Webb (Kathy) Clinard, Jr. of High Point; grandchildren, Charles Webb (Chas) Clinard, III of Wilmington, and Julie Kathleen Clinard of Greensboro; sisters-in-law, Mabel Hepler Clinard of Thomasville, and Joyce Pierce Lambeth of Oak Island; six nieces and six nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Worth, Donald, and Doyle Lambeth, and her son-in-law, Jim Wheeler. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Hall and Rev. Sarah Snell officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until placed in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 8 Cramer Street, Thomasville, NC 27360 or to The Thomasville Woman's Club, 15 Elliott Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360. J.C.
