GROSS – Died, Friday, March 10, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Charles A. Smith of Chatham, Mrs. Alathea S. Gross, in the 83d year of her age.
Mrs. Gross was stricken suddenly with paralysis Thursday evening shortly after six o'clock and did not survive the night. She will be well remembered in connection with her late husband, Rev. Alba Gross, by many of the older residents of the city and country. Her surviving children are: Judge W. L. Gross and Mrs. J. H. Fancher of this city; Mrs. Charles A. Smith of Chatham; Mr. Charles F. Gross of Joliet, and Mr. Kirke D. Gross of Moberly, Mo. The husband and father has been dead about three years. The children from abroad are here to attend the funeral.
The services will be conducted this morning at 10 o'clock at Chatham and the interment will be in Oak Ridge cemetery, the cortege going from the noon train directly to the cemetery.
