Marvin R. Blair, 54, of Webster City, IA, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Raymond M. Roden and the Rev. David R. LeMaster officiating with burial in Graceland Cemetery [in Webster City, IA].

Marvin Russell Blair, son of Fred and Tilla Gilbert Blair, was born Mar. 3, 1923, in Harlan, IA, where he was reared and educated.

He entered the service during World War II, serving with the U.S. Army from Jan. until Nov. 1944.

Sept. 6, 1946, he was united in marriage to Oriet Morseth, and he attended watchmakers' school at Albany, MO; then moved to Watertown, SD, where he lived until 1952 when he moved to Sleepy Eye, MN. In 1957, he moved to Webster City where he worked for the Daily Freeman-Journal until 1972, later being employed by the Hahne Printing Co.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. John (Jacquelin) Klinnert of Cyrus, MN, and Mrs. Matt (Virginia) Peters of Perry, IA; and two grandchildren, Michael and Brent Klinnert. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Tilla Blair of Council Bluffs, IA, one sister and a brother, Mrs. John (Evelyn) Reneau of Savoy, TX, and Rex Blair of Council Bluffs. He was preceded in death by his father.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the D.A.V.
