Verna was united in marriage to Jerry Golliher on January 17, 1915 at Meade, Kansas. The couple lived on a farm six miles east of Plains throughout their married life. Verna moved to Meade in1975, and for the past eight years has been a resident of Lone Tree Retirement Community (Lone Tree Lodge). Verna liked to sew, crochet, quilt, play cards, and play Scrabble.
Vema was baptized on March 2,1990by the Rev. Lynn E. Spencer.
Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry on April 7,1972; her daughter, Agnes Salmon; two grandchlildren, Patricia Ann Golliher and Larry Golliher; two brothers, Glen Geisinger and Charlie Geisinger; Edith Davis and Madge James.
She is survived by three sons, Leroy of Cheyenne Wells CO, Robert of Emporia KS, and Charlie of St. George UT; two daughters, Margaret Holt of Ulysses KS and Jenny George of Meade; 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 1993 at St. John Lutheran Church, Meade. The Rev. Lynn Spencer presided. Interment followed at Graceland Cemetery in Meade. Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church.
