DEATH OF MR. HUGHES.
He Was 80 Years Old and a Former County Commissioner.
Mr. James Hughes, a retired miller and business man, died at his late residence at Westernport last evening of heart failure aged 80 years. His wife died two weeks ago. Mr. Hughes served a term as county commissioner of Allegany county and has also served in the Westernport town council. He was a prominent Odd Fellow and a member of Lonaconing Lodge of that order. He is survived by the following children Jacob W. Hughes, Westernport; Mrs Robert Williams of Rocky Mount, N. C .; James Hughes, St. Louis, Mo.; John Hughes, Salt Lake City, Utah; Misses Mamie, Marie and Fannie Hughes, of Westernport. He leaves a number of relatives in this vicinity.
