Arthur Kleinhesselink, age 81, of Alton, died Sunday, March 17, 1996 at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Alton Reformed Church in Alton. The Rev. Roger Voskuil will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

Arthur Everett was born Nov. 4, 1914 at Orange City, the son of Edward and Mayme (Van Driel) Kleinhesselink. He was raised just south of Orange City.

On Feb. 16,1937 he married B.Viola Reinders at Orange City. They farmed just southwest of Alton.

In 1982 they moved into Alton. Mrs. Kleinhesselink died Sept. 23, 1989 at Orange City. OnNov. 17, 1995, Mr. Kleinhesselink became a resident of the Heritage House.

"Art" was a member of the Alton Reformed Church where he had served on the consistory as a deacon. He also served several terms on the board of directors of the Alton Public School, and later the Floyd Valley Community Schools. He was a founding member of the Saber Saddle Club.

Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Sheryl and Roger Koster of Orange City; a son, Edward Kleinhesselink of Alton; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kara and Steve Schriner, Kyle and Dr. Julie Koster, and Karisa and Glen Boer; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob Schriner, and Beau Boer; and two sisters, Wilmina Gebauer of LeMars, and Geraldine De Vries of Valley Springs, S.D.
