"NEW LISBON - Melvin Douglas Washburn, eleven months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Washburn of New Lisbon died at the Fox hospital at Oneonta Saturday morning at 2:40. The child had been afflicted with a heart ailment from birth and was taken worse Friday and was removed to the hospital a few hours previous. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Patterson Funeral home at Hartwick. The Rev. L. I. McLain, pastor of the Baptist church at Hartwick officiated. Interment was in Hillington cemetery at Morris. Besides the grief stricken parents, there survive his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Washburn of Mt. Vision, RD, and Chauncey Yager of New Lisbon; two great grandmothers, Mrs. Chester Harrington of Hartwick and Mrs. Carrie Osborn of Syracuse and several uncles, aunts and counsins."
