Orlan Hormann
Funeral services for Orlan Hormann were held at 11 a.m. today, Monday, Feb 14, 2005 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Plains under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of west Plains. The Rev. John Gerlach of West Plains officiated. Interment will be in Hendricks Cemetery, Hendricks, Minn.
Pallbearers at West Plains were Pery McVay, Mike Lilly, Buddy Carter, Doug Robison, Mark Jones and Ernst Bicker.
Orlan Willis Hormann was born March 29, 1927, to parents Carl Emil (Charles) Hormann and Emelia (nee Meinert) Hormann in Hendricks, Minn. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hendricks.
He was united in marriage to Corrine Ouverson on April 21, 1950. To this union three children were born.
Orlan was engaged in farming all his life, residing near Hendricks, Springfield and Sleepy Eye, Minn.; LaPlata, Mo.; Richmond, Ky.; Fairland, Okla.; and finally, near West Plains, Mo.
He was united in marriage to Jeweleen Ayers on June 12, 1982, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Preceding him in death were his father and mother; three brothers, Ralph, Martin and Lyle; and two sisters, Hazel Weber and Arline.
Mr. Hormann is survived by his wife, Jeweleen; his son, Lowell, Pleasanton, Texas; two daughters, Alyse (nee Hormann) Grant, Moberly, Mo., and Darlette (nee Hormann) Kampmann, St. Charles, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Saluda UnThank, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sheila Mullins, Crittenden, Ky.; two stepsons, Raymond Bledsoe, West Harrison, Ind., Dee Bledsoe, Fairfield, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the West Plains Senior Center and left at the funeral home.
Mr. Hormann had been in good health and passed away suddenly at home Thursday, Feb., 10 at age of 77 years, 10 months and 12 days.
