Lorraine passed away peacefully June 22, 2012 in Holladay, Utah at the age of 88.
She was born in Detroit, Michigan to William R. Bailey and Dora M. Mitschelen. She married Robert Elton Purdy, June 4, 1944 in Ft. Benning, Georgia; later divorced.
She joined the LDS church in 1963, later moving to SLC, Utah where she lived for the remainder of her life. She worked for the LDS church in Missions Accounting until she retired. She loved sewing, reading, music, and watching ice-skating and old classic movies. Her greatest love was doing genealogy. She had a great love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, often sharing her testimony with others.
Lorraine is survived by her brothers, Paul Bailey of Tucson, AZ and Robert Bailey of Dallas, TX and her sister, Phyllis Hansen of Oregon, WI; son, Ronald (Nanette) Purdy of Chagrin, OH. Lorraine was also blessed with a numerous posterity whom she loved very much.
Preceded in death by sons, Robert, Roger and Roy Purdy, and granddaughters, Tanya, Misty, and Monica.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be one hour prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
