Herbert Taylor, 96, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Harpeth Terrace Convalescent Center. Mr. Taylor was born in Davidson County, son of the late Woody B. and Lizabeth Weatherford Taylor, and made his home in Franklin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired warehouse supervisor from American Paper and Twine with 60 years service. Mr. Taylor was a member of Community of Faith Church of the Nazarene and was preceded in death by his wife of 76 years, Mary S. Taylor. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara (Malvern) Rahrer of Brentwood, Elizabeth Fox of Franklin and Vera Willette Philips of Smyrna; a sister, Allie Taylor Wells of Nashville; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Ronnie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Phil Phillips, Jeffrey Phillips, Joe Phillips, Brad Rahrer, David Rahrer, Josh Rahrer, Jimmy Phillips and Douglas Hood III. Honorary pallbearers are retired and present employees of American Paper and Twine and the staff of Harpeth Terrace Convalescent Center. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Community of Faith Church of the Nazarene.
