The Weston Independent, Tues. 2 Dec. 1919:

FORTNEY, MRS. TABITHA - Her body was found floating in the West Fork river Wednesday. She was age 80 and was of Shinnston. It is believed she wandered to the bank, fell asleep and the river rose and she drowned.
