NESMITH

C. Mitchell Heidt, 63, section foreman for Seaboard Airline Railroad, died in Johnson Memorial Hospital at Hemingway Saturday at 8:30 a.m. following an illness of four months.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Nesmith Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerome McKenzie, pastor, will conduct. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Wiley Turner, George Turner, Roy Prosser, W. J. Cooper Jr. Frazier Wall, and Clarence Lewis.

Mr. Heidt was a son of the late Edward Valentine and Rebecca Cannon Heidt of Hendersonville, S.C., where he was born and spent his early life.

Mr. Heidt established his home in Nesmith in 1922, where he has been associated with the Seaboard Airline Railroad. Prior to moving to Nesmith, he lived in Charleston where he was associated with the C&W Railroad.
