Kenneth Ray Bluew, 60, of Elizabeth passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at home with his family after a brief courageous battle with cancer.

Ken was born May 24, 1946, in Halls, Tenn. He was the son of the late Cecil Bluew and he is survived by his mother, Ruby Richardson Bluew of Tennessee.

Ken served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich. He was a retired Sergeant with the Detroit Police Department. He was a member of the Burning Springs Lodge 132 A.F.&A.M., the Little Kanawha Shrine Club, a member of Wirt Lodge 113 Order of the Eastern Stars, also a noble of the Nemesis Shrine of Parkersburg. He was active in the transport of children to the Lexington Shrine Hospital, where he served as associate member to the Board of Governors.

Surviving, along with his mother, is his wife of 33 years, Patricia Twyman Bluew; a son, Kenneth T. Bluew and wife, Lisa, of Saginaw, Mich.; two daughters, Kelley Morris and husband, Mark, of New Baltimore, Mich., and Debbie Dennis and husband, Rick, of Elizabeth; a brother, Ronnie Bluew and wife, Brenda, of Tennessee; two sisters, Peggy Bryan of Marion, Ohio, and June McBride and husband, Sonny, of Washington State; four very special grandchildren, Brandi Dennis, Trevor Bluew, Luke and Logan Morris; as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home, 448 Juliana St., Elizabeth, with the Rev. Dean Ash officiating. Wirt Lodge 113 Order of the Eastern Stars will conduct funeral rites at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be in the K of P Cemetery with members of the Little Kanawha Shrine Club serving as pallbearers. Masonic graveside rites will also be recognized. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Nemesis Shrine Transportation Unit of Parkersburg.
