Sara was married twice. Her first husband was Newman Ebersole. They were married 29 October 1919 in Butler County, OH. Her second husband was Norman Bassett.


Obituary in the Middletown Journal April 25, 1983

Mrs. Sara Verity Ebersole Bassett, 88, the last surviving daughter of Armco Inc. founder, George M. Verity, died Sunday at her residence in Madison, WI.

Mrs. Bassett lived in Middletown much of her life. She married the late Newman Ebersole, an Armco executive, who died in 1948 and in 1962 married Norman Bassett of Madison, WI, who died in 1980.

While in Middletown, Mrs. Bassett was the head of the American Red Cross during World War I and a member of the Current Events Club and the Middletown Garden Club.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Wilson-Schramm Memorial Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Arts in Middletown.
