R. C. Van Amringe, 52 Years At Law

Robert C. Amringe, local attorney who practiced law for more than 52 years, died Thursday (Dec. 29, 1966) at a local hospital.

Born in Boston*, he came here in 1946.

In 1906 Van Amringe became a reporter for the Boston Evening Transcript. He was graduated from what is now the Northeastern University Law School in 1910.

Van Amringe opened his own law office in Boston in 1914. He was attorney and secretary for the Master Plumbers Association of Boston and secretary of the Boston Building Congress. During his final 15 years practice there, he specialized in probate, administration and estate taxes.

Moving to St. Petersburg in 1946, he opened a law office at 710 Central Ave. He continued practice until the time of his death.

Van Amringe, who lived at 1112 23rd Ave. N., was married to the late Elizabeth L. Van Amringe.

Services will be held Saturday at 3:30 in the Palms Memorial Chapel with the Rev. William O. Harris of Covenent Presbyterian Church of St. Petersburg officiating.

Survivors include two cousins, Paul Van Amringe Comey of Brooklyn, N. Y., and Mrs. Henrietta Squier of Winona, N. J.
