The Houston Chronicle, 24 January 1952, p. 51. col. 4. Sister of Sterling Dies at 90. Mrs. Cora Sterling Barrow, 90, died at 6:20 a.m. Thursday in a Houston Hospital after an illness of three years. A member of a pioneer Texas family, she was born in Liberty County, but grew up on the family ranch at Anahuac. There she married B.F. Barrow, a ranchman of Chambers County in 1878. Mr. Barrow died in 1896. Mrs. Barrow came to Houston to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. A.A. Warren, at 220 West Alabama, some 30 years ago. Up until the past few years she was active in the old Bethany Christian Church and in the Daughters of the American Revolution. The late Governor Ross S. Sterling was a brother of Mrs. Barrow. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. A.A. Warren and Mrs. H.C. Hopkins of Houston; Mrs. John L. Dunn and Mrs. Sam M. Pipkin of Beaumont, son, B.E. Barrow of Anahuac, two sisters, Mrs. Annie Barrow of Houston, Mrs. George L.H. Koehler of Hunt, brother A. A. Sterling of Houston. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the drawing room of Settegast-Kopf with Rev. Elmer D. Henson officiating. Burial will be in forest park Cemetery.
