Marvin L. Harris, 61, 511 W. Sixth St., died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 1996, at Dukes Memorial Hospital Continuing Care Center.
He was born May 10, 1935, in Miami County to Harvey and Thelma Krile Harris, He married Doris McNabney in Rochester on Dec. 23, 1972. She survives.
Harris worked for United Technologies in Peru. He was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Peru, the Peru Moose Lodge No. 249, the Peru Eagles lodge No. 258 and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his mother in Peru; a son: Marvin Harris, Jr., Akron; three daughters: Shari Klingshirn, Etna Green, Beth Ann Whetstone, Akron, and Pam Prater, Rochester; three step-children: Ellen Digue, Denver, James Gehle, Portsmouth, Va. and Timothy Gehle, Peru; a half sister: June Tate, Kokomo, 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84W. Main St., with Pastor Ronald M. Shaner officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the First Nazarene Church, Peru.
