Nicholas and his wife Anna Katrina Kaser Schwindt came to the USA about 1880. His Son Nick had been there since 1876, and a Daughter, Mrs. Yost, since 1878. One son, Martin, Died in Russia, but all the others sons followed him here. The last arriving in 1899.
Anna passed away in 1888; Nicholas in 1890. Both were buried in the Old Baptist Church Cemetery near Bison, Kansas. Many years later the Baptist Church was destroyed by a cyclone, and all records were lost. In later years the wooden grave markers were also destroyed by a brush fire that swept over the cemetery. For many years the graves remained unmarked, but their exact location was always known. In 1967, through the efforts of descendants, a stone marker was placed on the grave sites.

She and Nicholas came to America about 1878 following their son Nicholas who arrive in 1876 and another daughter Christina Schwindt Yost who were already settled into the American Kansas area.

Hebich: They sailed out of Hamburg and listed as Nicholas (born 1823) is with his wife, Cathe (born 1823), their son Heinrich (born 1858) and his wife Cathe (Katherina Baker Schwindt) (1858 -1929) and arrival in New York USA June 5, 1878.
