Necedah/Janeville--Donald E. West, age 77, of Necedah, WI. Formerly of Janesville, died Monday-July 12,2004, at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. He was born in Janesville on September 5,1926, the son of Edward and Lydia {Zahn} West. Don served in the US Navy for 15 years. He married Martha {Raatz - Hart} Gaethke on February 9,1980. He was employed by the City of Janesville and later for Cedar Crest before retiring in 1993. Hew was a life member of the VFW and Loyal Order of the Moose. Don moved to Necedah 11 years ago.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Martha; 2 daughters, Kim {Danny} Suiter of Beloit,Wisconsin and Chris Reinhardt of Feffyville, Wisconsin; Step-Children; Ray Hart of Brooken, Wisconsin, Art {Sandi} Hart and Robert {Anne} Hart, and Laura {Lawrence} Fischbach, Sarah {Roger} Johnson, all of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Terrie {Rob} Freed of Edgerton, Wisconsin and Bertha {Bob} Grindey of Janesville, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sistiers; Phyllis {Harry} Menz of Janeville, Wisconsin, and Marcy {Cork} Davis of Afton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and niece, and nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 15,2004 at Schneider APFEL Schineider & Schneider Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schneider APFEL Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will aslo greet friends at the VFW Post in Necedah on Friday from 4:oo p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
