Second Lieutenant Walth was the pilot of U.S. Army Air Forces B-24J Liberator #42-73252.

Lost on a mission after departing Kweilin (Guilin), Guangxi, China for an intended sea patrol off the coast of Indo-China. Conflicting sources as to where the crash site was found.

All ten airmen aboard were killed:
