East Peoria, IL - Gary L. Stanford, 56, of East Peoria died at 2:14 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, in Lincoln, Ill.
Born on Dec. 7, 1955, in Peoria, Ill., to Leonard C. and Mary Lou Stanfill Stanford, he was previously married to Marilyn Sue Schaub. She currently resides in Creve Coeur, Ill.
Also surviving are his mother, Mary Lou Stanford of Midland, Ga.; two daughters, Denise (Danny) Richards of East Peoria and Ashley Stanford of Lincoln, Ill.; two grandchildren, Dominick Richards and Sierra Richards; one brother, Steven C. (Kristina) Stanford of Novi, Mich.; one niece, Kaitlyn Stanford; and one nephew, Scott Stanford.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Walter and Rettie Stanford and Harvie Lee and Flora Stanfill.
Gary was the owner of Sparkgap Electronics in Lincoln, Ill.
He attended the University of Illinois and Bradley University, taking classes in electrical engineering.
An amateur ham radio operator, he recently achieved his extra class status and had the call letters of AB9XN.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria, Ill.
