Richard C. Hartwick, 212 High St., Sharpsville, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, after a four-month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 53.

Mr. Hartwick was born Sept. 22, 1953, in Sharon, a
son of the late William C. Hartwick and Ruth M. Tremmel
Hartwick.

He was a 1971 alumnus of Sharon High School and received an associate's degree in computer science from the Shenango campus of Penn State University, Sharon.

Rick was employed for more than 20 years as a system
administrator for Delphi Packard Electric Systems,
Warren, Ohio. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sharon.

Rick was devoted to his family, friends and many interests.
He enjoyed working on his home and was very proud of his landscaping, flower gardens and woodworking projects.

He helped coach in his son's soccer leagues, enjoyed
reading and was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan. Rick was a member and past president of the Monday Night Men's Bowling League at Thornton Hall Lanes, Sharon. He also belonged to
Packard Men's Golf League and looked forward to golfing
with his brother every Sunday afternoon.

He served with the Army and was stationed in Germany.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Deborah L. Wiesen,
whom he married March 5, 1983; his children, Shana Lei
and Alexei Paul Nicholas, all at home; his brother, Paul A.
Hartwick and his wife Tamela, Sharpsville; his mother-in-law, Charlotte Wiesen, a resident of O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Masury; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Rick and Panchita Wiesen, Pensacola, Fla.; Carol and Clancy
Banks, Liberty Township, Trumbull County; Ray and Karen Wiesen, Masury; Tony Wiesen, Homosassa, Fla.; Anne and Rick Yarabenetz, Brookfield; Marion Abdeljabar, Hubbard; David Wiesen, Binghamton, N.Y.; and Betty and John Putnam, San Antonio. He also leaves: several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; two half sisters, Helen Dunch, Cortland; and Beverly Lorentsen, San Diego; and several close friends, including many from childhood.

Besides his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his
father-in-law, Richard Wiesen; and a half sister, Elizabeth
Hatch.
