HOMER--Wilma M. Reed, 71, o 4340 29-Mile Road, died Sunday in Leila Hospital in Battle Creek after a long illness.
She was born in Morningview, Ky., moved to Branch County and then to Homer in 1947.
She worked on the family farm for many years, and for Don Moor Farm Fresh Meats in Homer for several years. She was a dispatcher of the Homer Police Department.
Survivors include daughters, Dorothy Blowers of Battle Creek and Jane Cavender of Homer; sons, C. Eugene Reed and Orin A. Reed Jr., both of Homer, and Earl L. Reed of Deland Springs, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Stephens of McClure, Ohio; and sisters, Juanita Foreman of Los Angeles, Lula Mae Pool of Toledo, Ohio, and Vessie Benefiel of Terre Haute, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orin A. Reed; a daughter, Ida Mae Bagwell, in 1985, a son, Carl, in 1961; and four sisters.
Services will be 11 a.m Wednesday at the Homer Chapel of Tidd-Williams Funeral Chapels. Memorial donations may go to the American Cancer Society or Good Samaritan Hospice Care.
