Marvin Gunlogson passed away Friday, May 13, 2011, at Applewood Nursing Center at Redding CA at the age of 89.
Marvin was born October 7, 1921, to Jon T. and Magnea (Vivatson)
Gunlogson on a farm near Akra, ND. He worked on bridges for Hjalmarson & Gunlogson Construction.
Marvin entered military service in the U.S. Army from Highland Park, Indiana in 1942. He served as Military Police for 12 months, then tank crewman sharpshooter. He was wounded at Palu Island and received the Asiatic Pacific medal, and the World War Victory medal. Marvin was discharged in February of 1946 with military honors at Camp Beals, CA.
Marvin was the eighth child of a family of seven boys and three girls. He was the last surviving member of the Gunlogson family, and leaves to mourn: a sister-in-law, Cecilia Johnson of Westminster, CA;
along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; bothers: William, Frank, John, Carl, Lynn, and Alvin; and sisters: Ruth and Doris (twins), and Mable.
A private memorial service was held.

Marvin was cremated and his ashes are with his parents.
