On Friday last as the shades of darkness settled down upon the earth, the beautiful spirit of Miss Alice Maloney departed this vale of tears. Alice had been sick a little less than a week, and though her condition at no time seemed alarming, the end came with unexpected suddenness. Miss Maloney was born in the town of Amennia on Dec 13, 1887, the daughter of the late James & Mrs Ann Maloney. She attended the Catholic school until graduating from the 8th grade. After that she became a pupil at the Amenia High School. During her short 38 years, Alice, who was somewhat a cripple from childhood, bore her lot without ever a murmur. She was especially diligent about the ome, and of late years since blindness had rendered her mother most helpless, she had given her life in making the aged woman comfortable and happy. Besides her aged mother, the deceased is survived by a sister, Mrs Mary Berhhardt, and a brother, William Maloney, as well as two stepbrothers, Messers James & Joseph Newman.
