English Royalty. Born the eldest son of Eadgar the Peaceful, King of Northumbria and Mercia, and Ælfthryth, (who was also known as Elfrida). Due to his early death, his younger brother, Aethelred, would succeed to the crown and become known to history as ‘the Unready.'
