DIGHTON — Rosa E. Cheney, 94, of Dighton, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Lane County Hospital in Dighton. She was born July 4, 1917, in Lakin, to Philip and Tena Scheureman Michel.
On Oct. 25, 1934, she married Carl W. Cheney. He died Nov. 22, 1977. She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Reuben, Herman, Julius and P.C. Michel; and a grandson.
Mrs. Cheney was a farm wife and homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Rohr of Ransom, and Phyllis Thon of Dighton; a sister, Lois Davidson of Longview, Wash.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton. Burial followed at Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
