The son of Isaac Andreas and Catherine Buff

He was sometimes known and Urias and at others as Lemuel. He used his first and middle names interchangeably on documents.

Celebrate Birthday of Uriah Andreas

Uriah Andreas, Beach Haven's oldest resident, celebrated his 91st birthday on Monday, St. Patrick's Day, and a family dinner made the day a happy one.

The home and the table where the elaborate dinner was served were decorated in green. The dinner was followed by an evening of music obtained over a new radio that was a birthday gift to Mr. Andreas.

Mr. and Mrs. Andreas were surprised and delighted. They have been married over fifty-six years. Mr. Andreas recently completed his thirtieth reading of the Bible, taking the books in order from Genesis to Revelations.

Those from out of town who came to join in the family gathering were; Rev. and Mrs. J. F. Andreas, of Enola; Mrs. M. E. Donovan, of Bellefonte; Mrs. Robert Hough, Mrs. Jacob Funk, of Conyngham; Mrs. Gus Remaley, Ralph Stegner, of Hazleton; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dawson and children Harriet, Elroy, and William, Charles Andreas, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Cragle, of Beach Haven; Aaron Andreas, Forest Andreas, of Berwick.

Lemuel U. Andreas, of Beach Haven, Dies

The death of Lemuel Uriah Andreas of Beach Haven [Luzerne Co, PA] occurred at 11:30 o'clock yesterday morning and was caused by a heart attack. Death was unexpected and came as a profound shock.

Mr. Andreas was born at Butler Valley [Luzerne Co, PA] and was aged 93 years on the seventeenth of last month. He spent the greater part of his life in Beach Haven where he was an active member of the Beach Haven Methodist Church.

His wife and thirteen children, Frank Andreas, of Hetherville; Elmer Andreas of Mifflinville; Smith Andreas of Berwick; Mrs. William Lutz of Salem township; Mrs Jacob Fink, of Conyngham; the Rev J. S. Andreas of Enola; Mrs Elizabeth Donovan, of Beliefonten; Mrs Robert Hough, Mrs. Gus Remaley; Mrs. Harry Dawson, Charles Andreas, Forrest Andreas and Aaron Andreas of Berwick; nd Mrs. Isaac Cragle, of Beach Haven survive.

Lemuel Uriah Andreas, aged 93 years, native of Butler Valley died suddenly at Beach Haven where he won newspaper headlines due to his habit of cutting wood every day to stay in good physical condition. He was a member of the Beach haven Methodist church.

His wife and fourteen children, Frank Andreas, of Hetlerville; Elmer Andreas, of Mifflinville; Smith Andreas, of Berwick; Mrs. William Lutz, of Salem Township; Mrs. Jacob Fink, of Conyngham; the Rev. J.S. Andreas, of Enola; Mrs. Elizabeth Donovan, of Bellefonte; Mrs. Robert Hough, Mrs. Gus Remaley, Mrs. Harry Dawson, Charles Andreas, Forrest Andreas and Aaron Andreas, of Berwick, and Mrs. Isaac Cragle, of Beach Haven, survive.
