She was 27, of Elwood, passed away on August 17, 2011 in Pendleton, following sudden illness

Katie was born on September 10, 1983 to Dennis and Jackie (Cyphers) Hughes in Anderson.
She was a 2002 graduate of Madison Grant High School.
She was a member of the East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood.

Katie is survived by her loving parents Dennis and Jackie Hughes of Elwood, Brother - Jarod Hughes of Indianapolis; Grandmother - Betty Jane Cyphers of Elwood, Nephews Aiden & Elijah Hughes, Niece Scarlett Hughes and Severals Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins .

She was preceded in death by her Grandparents Burnice & Mary Ellen Hughes and Loren Cyphers Jr. and Great Grandparents Art & Rena Heaton and Ruby Cyphers.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 21, 2011 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2011, 11:00 AM at the Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana, with Rev. Roger Gardner, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Riley Hospital For Children through the funeral home.
